COSMETIC PROCEDURE :
Cosmetic Procedures mainly differ from Cosmetic Surgeries by the fact that there is no surgery involved. Usually these are day care or lunch time office procedures. Non-invasive cosmetic procedures appeal to those patients who want to improve their appearance without the risk of complications or recovery time needed with more invasive Cosmetic Surgical treatments. Main reasons for this are affordability, very little or no downtime and fewer complications.

The two main types of cosmetic procedures include injectables and surface treatments. Injectables which work on deeper muscles and deeper layers of the skin are used in two ways to eliminate dynamic lines of facial expression and to plump up the face. The American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS), identifies Botox Cosmetic as the most popular non-invasive treatment choice for patients of ages 35-50. Plastic surgeons use it to smooth the deep, persistent lines between your brows that develop over time. With only a few tiny injections, the facial muscles that cause those lines to form will relax for up to 6 months or more. The results are dramatic and apparent within days. The best part is, patients are able to return to normal activity almost immediately after receiving the injections.

Surface treatments, which include laser treatments and chemical peels, mainly improve the appearance of skin. Laser skin resurfacing is a procedure that smoothens the facial skin and in some cases, can improve the firmness of skin. Using a specialized laser, the plastic surgeon is able to refinish damaged areas and reduce fine wrinkles, especially around the eyes and mouth. Areas of uneven pigmentation can also be corrected.

A chemical peel evens out skin tone affected by age, sun damage, or acne. This procedure creates younger, smoother skin by using a chemical solution to remove the damaged outer layers of your skin. It can improve the look of wrinkles, freckles, scars, fine lines and wrinkles, as well as sun-damaged skin. With this procedure, there is very little downtime and results can be seen after the very first peel.

Your plastic surgeon has many ways to make you look younger and feel more beautiful. Talk with a board certified plastic surgeon about the best cosmetic procedure to reach your personal goals.

COSMETIC SURGERY :
Cosmetic Surgery also called Aesthetic Surgery is an advanced branch of Plastic Surgery. While Plastic Surgery is mainly concerned with restoration and maintenance of normal appearance and function of body, Cosmetic Surgery intends to enhance the physical appearance beyond the average level toward some aesthetic ideal. To achieve this it utilizes some of the state of the art surgical, non-surgical, medical and laser techniques.

LASER TREATMENTS :
Laser therapy is used to treat many dermatological conditions. The intensified, pure laser light targets a component of the skin called a chromophore. A Chromophores may be melanin, hemoglobin (blood), water, or even tattoo ink. Light is a mixture of rays of different wavelengths and specific wavelengths target certain chromophore. When a specific wavelength of light is absorbed by the chromophore, a reaction occurs that generates heat. In turn, the heat destroys the chromophore and the cells containing it. In the case of facial hair growth, the laser, targets the melanin pigment in the hair bulb, heats the hair root and destroys it permanently.

Lasers:There are many different types of lasers that have been developed and it is important to understand which lasers are best for which procedures. Unfortunately, many patients think of lasers as almost magical, but there are limitations to what they can achieve, especially in brown skin. Therefore, laser should only be performed by a physician experienced in laser treatment and also one who has specific experience treating brown skin.

PLASTIC SURGERY :
What Is Plastic Surgery ? Plastic Surgery is a surgical specialty concerned with the correction or restoration of form and function of an organ or part of body. Though it is not restricted to any organ, it mainly deals with the largest organ in the body i.e. skin, along with subcutaneous tissues and superficial bones like those of face which all give form or shape to the body.

If the form or shape of any part of the body is either defective from birth or is damaged by an accident or disease or is removed by surgery, then it is the plastic surgery which tries to restore it back and this type of plastic surgery is known as Reconstructive Surgery. Plastic Surgery includes many types of reconstructive surgeries, as well as subspecialties like hand surgery, microsurgery, treatment of burns and the cosmetic surgery. In a nutshell, plastic surgery tries to bring back the normalcy to an individual.

It is interesting to note that the name ‘Plastic’ has its origin in the Greek word plastikos, which means to form or to mold. The synthetic substance; plastic is also named because of its property to get molded to any desired form easily. Contrary to belief of some, plastic is never used to enhance a part of the body; instead a very pure form of medical grade silicone is often used as an implant in cosmetic surgery of which most widely known example is the breast implant.

Plastic surgery is a special branch of surgery that deals with person's appearance and ability to function. Plastic surgeons strive to improve patients’ appearance and self-image through both reconstructive and cosmetic procedures.
